Visits from deciq

deciq sends AI shopping agents to an online store, each carrying the request of a shopper we made up, and tells the person who asked where the agents stopped before buying. Anyone can ask us to check a store on deciq.ai. deciq is run by DeciqAI Inc.

How to recognise a visit

• The agent arrives on a link tagged utm_source=deciq and utm_medium=agent-visit, so the visit shows in your analytics under that source.
• The agent browses in an ordinary Chrome window from Amazon Web Services addresses in the United States.
• Before each check we read your robots.txt and a few dozen of your public pages, such as the home page and the product list, as agentcosign-audit. We never touch your admin.
• Every request carries our signature (Web Bot Auth: the Signature, Signature-Input and Signature-Agent headers), but one: a single read of your robots.txt the moment someone enters your store's address on deciq.ai, before any check starts. Only our key can make that signature; its public half is at deciq.ai/.well-known/http-message-signatures-directory, so a platform that checks these signatures, as Shopify does, can tell our requests from an impostor's.

What a visit does

A check is eight visits, by eight agents with eight different requests. Each agent reads pages, searches, opens products and may add one to the cart, as a shopper with that request would. Each visit stops within twenty minutes.

Only when the person who asked is the store's owner does the agent also fill in checkout's contact and shipping fields, with the made-up shopper's name and our address, media@deciqai.com, and stop before payment. We take the asker as the owner when their email is at the store's own domain, or when they tell us the store is theirs; we do not verify that second case, so if you did not ask, write to us and we will stop. Your admin may then list an abandoned checkout under that name. Nothing was paid, and there is no customer to follow up.

What a visit never does

• It never pays.
• It never signs in or creates an account.
• When the person who asked is not the store's owner, it never enters checkout.

How to stop visits

Write to media@deciqai.com with your store's web address, and we will not visit it again. Or add these lines to your robots.txt:

Disallow: /

We read it before every check and send no agent to a store that disallows us.
